Revision lesson that uses the economics behind football transfers to touch on topics such as:

Labour markets
Derived demand
Scarcity
Sunk costs
Loss aversion
Information gaps
Marginal revenue product

Lesson challenges students to understand football transfers from an economist’s perspective and to be able to answer the commonly asked question ‘why do footballers cost so much?’

Also included is a link to an interactive game where students have to use what they have learnt to successfully run a football club. There are suggested homework tasks too.
