Revision lesson for A-level Economics students that uses the concept of ‘ghosting’ to touch on topics such as:

Negative externalities
Information gaps / asymmetric information
Present bias
Opportunity cost
Cost-benefit analysis / misaligned incentives
Game theory

Lesson challenges students to explain ghosting from an economist’s perspective, draw and adapt various diagrams, and conclude whether ghosting can be considered economically rational.

See a similar lesson where I have taken a ‘deep dive’ into the economics of public toilets to help students revise topics such as under-provision of public goods, moral hazard and tragedy of the commons here: /teaching-resource/resource-13401270
