Dukes Education has expanded its international school presence in Europe with a deal to buy Thames British School in Warsaw, Poland.
The school, a K-12 setting offering the Cambridge International school programme and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, becomes the 24th international school that Dukes operates.
The others are found across , including Spain, where it has seven schools; the Czech Republic, where it has six; and Portugal, where it has seven.
Thames British School opened in 2018 and has four campuses across Warsaw that provide for pupils of different ages. Most of the teaching is delivered in English with additional lessons in Polish and a choice of Spanish and German as modern languages.
International school expansion
Aatif Hassan, founder of Dukes Education, said the school’s “pursuit of excellence and commitment to strong values” made it an ideal fit for the Duke’s brand.
“Thames British School embodies the rich traditions of a British education, offering a global perspective while honouring local traditions and customs,” he added.
Dr Albert Sarli, CEO of Thames British School, said: “Our partnership marks a significant step forward in our mission to continually elevate the quality of education we offer to the community of Thames British School.”
The deal underlines the expansion of Dukes Education, which was only founded in 2015 but now has more than 50 schools under its brand, of which 28 are in the UK, mostly in London.
The move is also part of a wider growth trend among international school groups, with others recently expanding into new nations such as Uruguay and Colombia.
