Dukes Education has expanded its presence in Europe, announcing a deal to secure Jules Verne Campus (JVC) in Munich, Germany.
JVC, which serves over 400 pupils, was founded in 2013 and brings together four bilingual German and English settings under one roof: an elementary school, a grammar school, a kindergarten and an after-school and holiday care programme.
JVC pupils follow the Bavarian curriculum, but the school also offers its own bespoke electives, including one called Curiosology, and others related to sports and fitness, healthy eating and future skills.
Commenting on the acquisition, Dukes founder Aatif Hassan said that the JVC vision of “a sustainable, bilingual and intercultural education accorded strongly with the values of Dukes.
It also follows hot on the heels of Dukes securing its first school in Germany last month: International School Westpfalz.
New US chief
Meanwhile, in related news, Dukes has also announced the appointment of .
Ms Miller will join the group from her role as regional managing director for US West at International Schools Partnership.
The appointment comes after Mr Hassan told ÌÇÐÄVlog earlier this year that he has big plans for North America after it acquired a school in Canada - its first school outside Europe - and said he wants Dukes’ presence in the continent to be as big as its European footprint.
