The David Ross Education Trust (DRET) has announced Simon Rose as its new chief executive.
Mr Rose has been serving as interim chief executive for the 36-school trust since September.
His predecessor, Stuart Burns, announced in February that he was stepping down, after leading the trust for five years.
Since joining in 2016, Mr Rose has held senior roles across DRET, with a particular focus on primary improvement.
He has also held multiple headships and was previously interim director of education for Buckinghamshire County Council.
‘Clarity of vision’
The trust said he had played a central part in shaping the trust’s approach to teaching, learning and leadership development, contributing to improving outcomes and stronger consistency across schools.
Mr Rose said he was “delighted” to be appointed as chief executive and “to lead us on the next, exciting stage of the trust’s journey”.
“We have an excellent platform from which to grow, and I am excited about what we can achieve together for the children and young people we serve,” he said.
David Ross, chair of the David Ross Education Trust, said Mr Rose has provided “exceptional leadership” over the past few months.
“The board was impressed by the clarity of his vision and the strong relationships he has built across our schools,” he said.
“Simon is extremely well placed to lead the trust into its next phase of development, and I am confident that under his leadership we will continue to strengthen our work and broaden the opportunities available to our young people through our excellent teaching and learning and pioneering enrichment programmes.”
