A ready-to-teach PSHE lesson on sexting and the law for KS4 and KS5: what the law says about nudes, unwanted images, fake and AI images, and reporting.

Sexting means sending or receiving nude or sexual images, which official guidance calls sharing nudes and semi-nudes. This lesson gives students the legal detail in plain language: why receiving an image is different from choosing what to do with it, why the law protects the person in the photo, how fake and AI images are treated, and what really happens if they tell someone.

The main activity is a card sort built around three overlapping circles: unkind, against school rules and against the law. Groups discuss twelve realistic scenarios, and the overlaps are where most of the learning happens. A before and after check shows progress across the lesson, and an exit ticket applies it to a new situation.

What鈥檚 included:
21-slide presentation with full speaker notes
Teacher guide with flexible timings, card sort guidance, marking guides, the law in brief and a full list of sources
Card sort (eight core cards and four harder extension cards)
Before and after sheet
Exit ticket
Optional reflection sheet
Editable slide for your school鈥檚 reporting process

The core lesson fits 45 minutes, with optional activities that extend it to 60. The legal content applies to England and Wales and has been checked against current CPS, DfE and UKCIS guidance. The resource supports the statutory RSHE guidance (2026).

The companion THE CHAIN assembly and tutor time session is also available, or you can buy everything together in the THE CHAIN collection.
