A complete, ready-to-teach first German lesson for absolute beginners. Students learn to greet people at any time of day, introduce themselves, ask how someone is, and spell their name with the German alphabet, all through speaking-first “missions”.

WHAT’S INCLUDED
– Lesson (9 pages): briefing, 4 missions, final role-play mission, one-page phrase sheet (Spickzettel), teacher plan and answers
– Worksheet (8 pages): 16 exercises in three levels (Warm-up, Training, Challenge), self-check, answer key
– PDF and fully editable Word versions of both

THE 4 MISSIONS

Begrüßen – hello and goodbye at the right time of day (Guten Morgen, Guten Tag, Tschüss, Auf Wiedersehen)
Vorstellen – Wie heißt du? / Ich heiße … and the verb heißen
Wie geht’s? – asking and answering, plus when to use du and Sie
Buchstabieren – the German alphabet, umlauts and ß

Each mission follows the same steps: Learn → Drill → Do, ending with a speaking game or partner task (clock game, name chain, class survey, partner dictation). The final mission has three role-plays: meeting a classmate, at the school office, and an evening meeting.

TEACHING TIME
60 minutes, with a full minute-by-minute lesson plan, support and challenge ideas. No textbook needed; it works alongside any KS3 course, including Stimmt! 1.
