Prepare middle school students for real-world financial success with this comprehensive 36-week Personal Finance Curriculum for Grades 6–8. Students develop practical skills in budgeting, banking, income, taxes, credit, investing, and entrepreneurship through engaging reading, financial math, data analysis, case studies, simulations, spreadsheet modeling, and project-based learning.

This complete curriculum includes 36 weekly lessons across six student units, totaling 516 student pages, plus a 130-page Teacher Guide and extensive classroom support materials. Resources include original informational readings, comprehension activities, financial math, graph and data analysis, realistic case studies, hands-on investigations, spreadsheet tasks, argument writing, weekly reviews, extension activities, answer keys, assessment rubrics, six unit tests, 288 vocabulary cards, 72 exit tickets, parent letters, progress monitoring forms, six games and simulations, posters, certificates, and editable lesson plans.

The consistent weekly structure makes implementation easy and predictable. Each lesson includes an essential question, learning targets, vocabulary, informational reading, comprehension, financial math, data analysis, a real-world case study, hands-on application, spreadsheet modeling, evidence-based argument writing, and review or extension activities.

Across the six units, students explore SMART financial goals, budgeting and spending, banking and checking accounts, debit and mobile banking, careers and income, taxes, gross and net pay, credit reports and scores, loans and interest, debt management, inflation, compound growth, stocks, bonds, diversification, investing, entrepreneurship, business planning, and financial decision-making.

Students do more than memorize financial vocabulary. They calculate, analyze data, investigate realistic scenarios, build financial models, evaluate trade-offs, and defend decisions with evidence. This integration of reading, mathematics, writing, and critical thinking makes financial literacy active and relevant.

The curriculum is suitable for Personal Finance, Economics, CTE, Life Skills, Advisory, enrichment, homeschool, and financial literacy electives, with flexible pacing options and differentiation support.

Aligned with Council for Economic Education (CEE) standards, Jump$tart National Standards, and supporting Common Core Math and ELA standards, this year-long curriculum gives teachers the resources needed to build financially confident students who can become thoughtful savers, informed consumers, responsible borrowers, smart investors, and future entrepreneurs.
