Get your Year 6 class up, moving, and talking science with this interactive True or False Carousel Activity! Designed as a fun baseline assessment, it鈥檚 the perfect way to test prior knowledge and uncover common misconceptions before starting the Year 6 Animals, Including Humans (Circulatory System, Lifestyle & Health) unit.

The activity mixes Year 6 circulatory system concepts with recap questions from previous KS2 topics (teeth, digestion, food groups, and life cycles) to see what pupils have retained.

How to Run the Activity in Your Classroom:

  1. Print and scatter the 15 True or False statement cards across different table stations around the room. I used the print them on A3.
  2. Each statement card features 30 voting circles underneath. Children move around the tables, read the statements, and cast their vote by coloring in one circle - green for true or blue for false.
  3. As there are only 30 circles, pupils can only answer once.
  4. Gather the class back together. Go through the statements using the PowerPoint. Reveal their votes, address misconceptions and discuss the correct answers together!
