This Year 5 Volleyball Scheme of Work is a progressive and engaging PE unit designed to develop pupils’ technical skills, tactical understanding and teamwork through the Sports Education (SportsEd) model. Pupils take ownership of their learning by organising equipment, refereeing matches and working collaboratively within teams while developing confidence in competitive volleyball.

Across the unit, pupils are introduced to the core skills of volleyball before applying them in increasingly challenging game situations. They learn how to serve, dig, set and spike effectively whilst developing decision-making, communication and tactical awareness through small-sided games and match play.
