Year 2 Catholic RE lesson plans for Branch 1: Creation and Covenant, with seven sequenced 60-minute lessons. Explore the Bible, Noah’s covenant, stewardship, Baptism and Psalms through engaging, classroom-ready activities for ages 6–7.

This complete Year 2 RE unit supports pupils aged 6–7 to discover God’s covenant relationship with his people, the meaning of Baptism, our responsibility to care for creation and how we can praise God through prayer and song. Each weekly lesson is planned for 60 minutes and includes clear structure and scaffolding throughout. Pupils are introduced to the Bible as a sacred text and explore God’s covenant with Noah, learning about obedience, repentance and God’s faithfulness. They develop their understanding of stewardship as caring for God’s world, encounter Baptism as the first sacrament and a welcome into God’s family, and explore the rich symbolism of the Baptism rite. The unit concludes with Psalms as a model of prayer and praise, connecting pupils’ own voices to the living tradition of the Church.
