Build empathy, respectful discussion and perspective-taking in PSHE with 65 fictional character cards, editable slides and a classroom Web of Lives.

What is included

  • 65 text-based character cards in a 38-page PDF, including an index.
  • A 25-page teacher guide with a practical quick start and creative response activities.
  • A 38-page discussion reference matched to the characters.
  • 24 editable PowerPoint slides.
  • A4 and A3 printable wall mind maps.

How it works

Groups read a fictional character card, notice strengths and interests, explore challenges and influences, and consider what support could help. Learners contribute to a growing wall web and compare experiences and perspectives.

Extend the activity through presentations, letters of support, reports or writing in character. The guide includes a quick-start session of around 40 minutes and options for individual or group work.

Who is it for?

Designed for ages 12–16, with teacher selection and adaptation for the class. Useful for PSHE, tutor time, inclusion work, oracy and discussion. UK context includes protected characteristics and equality-related discussion.

The character cards deliberately contain text without portraits. Learners do not need to disclose their own experiences; use the fictional characters as a safe starting point.

Format and scope

One ZIP containing printable PDFs and an editable PPTX. This is the rebuilt UK complete pack, distinct from the earlier themed Web of Lives card sets. It is an educational discussion resource, not a therapeutic intervention. No physical product is supplied.
