In this two-lesson sequence, students will explore war poetry through a cross-curricular link with English. They will analyse the work of key First World War poets, including Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon and Jessie Pope, comparing their perspectives and representations of war. Students will then use their understanding of poetic techniques and themes to plan and write their own war poem. Lesson 6 and 7 of a 12 lesson sequence.
