This is a complete set of lessons to teach the ‘Liberalism and Nationalims in Germany’ unit of the European Option of Cambridge AS History, Syllabus 9489. I have ensure that it is adapted to the significant syllabus update for examination from 2027.

This version is specifically prepared to teach Paper 2 and contains many ‘past paper’ style questions.

There are activities for students in each lesson that rely on the use of the new Hachette textbook (Cambridge International AS Level History: Modern Europe 1774-1924; 978-1036008949). It could quite easily be adapted to other textbooks also. The activities ensure preparation for Paper 2.

I have included the answers for most activities in hidden slides or in the notes section.
