A 61-passage decodable reading pack for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade — one original passage for every UFLI Foundations lesson 68 through 128. Covers vowel teams (ai, ay, ee, ea, igh, oa, ow), r-controlled vowels (ar, or, er, ir, ur), trigraphs (tch, dge, ough, augh, eigh), open and closed syllables, the doubling rule, drop-e rule, y-to-i rule, common prefixes (un-, re-, pre-, dis-, bi-, tri-, uni-), and suffixes (-tion, -sion, -ture, -ness, -ment, -able, -ible, -ish, -ly, -less, -ful). Strict cumulative decodability — every word uses only the graphemes taught up to that lesson. No surprise sounds.

Most “decodable” passages on TPT include words students haven’t been taught to decode yet. These passages don’t. Every word in every passage is either fully decodable using only the graphemes taught up to and including that lesson, or listed as a “tricky word” in the box at the bottom of the page so you know to pre-teach it before students read.

Each passage is 50–80 words of original text, written specifically for this product, validated word-by-word against UFLI’s grapheme introduction order. The text targets the lesson’s new pattern (so a vowel-team lesson features lots of words with that vowel team), uses cumulative-decodable words from earlier lessons throughout, and reads naturally — students get to actually USE what you just taught them.

Three comprehension questions follow each passage in a fixed QAR (Question-Answer Relationships) order: RIGHT THERE for literal recall, THINK & SEARCH for inference, and ON YOUR OWN for personal connection. The 4-page teacher reference appendix gives literal Q1 answers and inferential Q2 hints for every lesson.

Includes an editable Google Slides version (PPTX) with every passage’s tricky words, full text, all three questions, and the answer key loaded into the speaker notes panel — so you can teach from the deck without flipping back to the PDF.
