This teacher resource pack is designed to support the teaching of reading skills from the National Curriculum through engaging, structured work based on the text.
The pack includes a comprehension booklet for each chapter, a matching comprehension card to help reduce photocopying, and a full set of answers for every comprehension task. It also provides at least two follow-up activities for each chapter to deepen understanding and encourage further discussion.
In addition, the resource features a teaching PowerPoint containing the same comprehension questions, alongside a range of ‘book club’ style prompts. These questions have been carefully designed to develop pupils’ understanding of language and themes, while encouraging thoughtful, creative and empathetic responses to the text
