An interactive and visual EAL resource that follows the story of a mother and her two children who suddenly leave all that they know and travel far away to a new place with a new language and different ways to do things.
The resource is the second part of a two-part series of resources based on the beautiful story “The Journey,” written by Francesca Sanna. The collaborative and interactive activities in this KS2 EAL resource provide an opportunity to develop and use vocabulary and modelled language structures associated with the story. This supports and enables multilingual learners to sequence the key events and explore the themes evident in the story so that they can participate in related discussions.
The resource pack includes a collaborative board game, a set of sentences to sequence adapted for different levels of proficiency in English and a visual word mat.
