Step into the shoes of a WW2 evacuee, and watch your Year 7s come alive.

A complete, fully resourced 6-lesson KS3 drama unit. Pupils follow one evacuee鈥檚 journey: packing the suitcase, saying goodbye on the platform, being chosen in the village hall, living through the Blitz, starting a new school, and finally coming home. It鈥檚 practical, fun and full of games. Your pupils will be on their feet from the first lesson.

Every lesson is packed with drama games and whole-class activities, including:
Air Raid!: a fast reaction game with sirens, blackouts and the all clear
The Suitcase Game: mime packing your case and your ONE special object
Pick Me! The Village Hall: whole-class improvisation with character cards
Walk Through the Blitz: a soundscape alley that gives everyone goosebumps
Fill the Empty Chair: pupils feel what it was like to be the outsider
The VE Day Street Party: with thought-tracks that reveal the truth behind the smiles

Drama skills built lesson by lesson: mime, still image, thought-tracking, improvisation, soundscape, physical theatre, cross-cutting, flashback and narration. The unit ends in a group performance for assessment.

What鈥檚 included:
6 脳 60-minute lessons: 62 fully timed PowerPoint slides with teacher notes
25-page scheme of work with a full plan for every lesson
Printables: the evacuation letter, cut-out luggage labels, 20 evacuee and villager character cards, and newspaper headlines
Assessment grid, success criteria, feedback frames and self-assessment
A one-page knowledge organiser (PDF)
Glossary and a bank of every drama activity to reuse

It鈥檚 ready to teach, with no extra prep. It works brilliantly alongside WW2 in History and English, and suits mixed-ability classes.
