This engaging and comprehensive bundle contains four beautifully illustrated reading lessons exploring the whole of Roald Dahl鈥檚 The Enormous Crocodile. Designed for Year 2 children, the series develops key comprehension skills through vocabulary exploration, retrieval questions, inference, prediction, explanation, summarising and sequencing.

The bundle includes:
Lesson 1: Secret Plans
Lesson 2: Into the Jungle
Lesson 3: Clever Tricks
Lesson 4: The Final Tricks

Each lesson follows a clear, consistent structure, including a starter activity, animated vocabulary definitions, a reading focus, retrieval questions with answers, and an inference task with a model response. Carefully scaffolded main activities provide opportunities for paired discussion, drama and independent written work, whilst deeper-thinking questions encourage children to develop and justify their ideas.

Main activities include making predictions, taking on the roles of the jungle animals in a hot-seating task, explaining how the crocodile鈥檚 tricks work and why they fail, and summarising and sequencing the whole story. Accompanying resources include a prediction worksheet, an explanation scaffold and an eight-box whole-story storyboard.

Original illustrations feature throughout the slideshows, with model answers, suggested responses and teaching guidance provided in the notes. Each lesson concludes with a learning review, self-assessment and an exit question.

Ideal for whole-class or guided reading in Year 2, this bundle supports a complete reading unit with varied opportunities to build confidence and deepen understanding.
