Final writing outcome

A quiet historical-magical narrative chapter in which Tolly arrives at Green Knowe, settles into a room that has known many children before him, and at last meets one of the long-ago children — Toby, Alexander or Linnet — for the first time. Pupils write with restraint and atmosphere, using relative clauses to braid the house’s many pasts into the present, modal verbs to mark the trembling moment of half-belief, and parenthesis with dashes to capture Mrs Oldknow’s gentle asides.
