The original and still the best! For a fifth year running, our heads of department have been hard at work to create a series of predicted exams for Summer 2026!

Questions increase in difficulty across each paper, with a mix of multiple choice, structured short answer, data interpretation, calculations and 6-mark extended response questions.

All questions are completely original and have been designed from scratch. There has been no reuse of previous exam questions. This is for the following paper: 8464/B/1H - Biology Paper 1H (Higher Tier).

For Biology:

The paper covers the following specification areas:

• 4.1 Cell Biology - cell structure, microscopy and magnification, mitosis, differentiation, active transport
• 4.2 Organisation - digestive enzymes, coronary heart disease, lifestyle risk factors, cancer, plant tissues
• 4.3 Infection and Response - human defence systems, antibiotics and resistance, drug development and clinical trials
• 4.4 Bioenergetics - anaerobic respiration and fermentation, aerobic vs anaerobic energy transfer, uses of glucose, the role of nitrate ions

For Chemistry:

The paper covers the following specification areas:

• 5.1 Atomic Structure and the Periodic Table - electronic structure, isotopes and RAM, Group 1 properties and reactivity trends, predicting properties
• 5.2 Bonding, Structure and Properties of Matter - ionic bonding and dot and cross diagrams, properties of ionic compounds, simple molecular substances and intermolecular forces, giant covalent structures (diamond, graphite, graphene)
• 5.3 Quantitative Chemistry - relative formula mass, percentage by mass, moles and mass calculations, limiting reactants
• 5.4 Chemical Changes - neutralisation, making soluble salts (required practical), reactivity series, displacement reactions, balanced equations
• 5.5 Energy Changes - endothermic reactions, reaction profiles, activation energy, energy change calculations

For Physics:

The paper covers the following specification areas:

• 6.1 Energy - energy stores and transfers, GPE and SHC calculations, power, efficiency, thermal conductivity and insulation, energy resources and environmental impacts
• 6.2 Electricity - circuit diagrams, V=IR with unit conversion, thermistors, I–V characteristics, series and parallel circuits, AC/DC, mains electricity, P=I²R, the National Grid
• 6.3 Particle Model of Matter - density including Required Practical 17, changes of state, internal energy, specific latent heat, particle motion in gases and pressure
• 6.4 Atomic Structure - development of the atomic model, beta decay nuclear equations, half-life from data, activity after multiple half-lives, contamination versus irradiation
