Subtraction L20 Four in a Row | Non-Linear Algebraic Expressions is a printable subtraction game from a structured 26-level progression, designed to extend algebraic fluency beyond linear terms.

This resource gives pupils focused practice in subtracting non-linear algebraic expressions. Pupils work with terms involving powers or products of variables and must identify genuinely like terms before subtracting their coefficients.

Pupils answer algebraic subtraction questions and try to connect four correct answers in the grid. The game structure adds motivation while maintaining the precision required for successful algebraic manipulation.

This is one individual consolidation level from the wider 26-level Subtraction progression. It builds on linear expression work and introduces a wider range of algebraic term structures without changing the central skill of subtraction.

The progression is designed to show that terms can only be combined when their variable and index structures match. Pupils must also apply subtraction signs accurately throughout each expression.

This individual Four in a Row resource is useful for:

starter activities
intervention
retrieval practice
homework
tutoring
cover lessons
paired work
small-group practice
KS3 and KS4 algebra
GCSE Foundation and Higher revision

The game format adds motivation and pace, while pupils improve like-term recognition, coefficient arithmetic and algebraic accuracy.

This resource is sold individually as one level from the full 26-level Subtraction Four in a Row progression.
