A STEM science experiments bundle for Year 2 to Year 6 (KS1 and KS2): two printable booklets that guide pupils through a foaming chemical reaction and a hands-on egg drop engineering challenge.

These two STEM science experiments work well in a science week or a run of practical lessons. Pupils predict, test, record and reflect, so they practise working scientifically as well as having fun. Buying the bundle costs less than buying the two booklets one by one.

What’s included (2 resources, 28 pages, black and white)

  • Elephant Toothpaste Experiment Booklet (16 pages): a foam reaction made with 3% hydrogen peroxide, yeast and washing-up liquid. It includes safety rules, a materials checklist, a prediction page, a Measure and Mix page, step-by-step instructions, a cut-and-stick sequencing page, observation and results pages and a reflection journal.
  • Egg Drop STEM Challenge Workbook (12 pages): pupils design, build, test and improve a device that protects a raw egg. It follows the engineering design process (ask, imagine, plan, create, test, improve), with space to sketch, choose materials, predict, record drop results and decide what to change.

Ways to use

  • British Science Week and STEM clubs
  • Working scientifically lessons and investigations
  • End of term challenges and group work

An adult should supervise both experiments and check the safety notes before the lesson.

Year groups: Year 2 to Year 6 (KS1 and KS2).

Format: printable PDFs. Print on A4 (choose “Fit to page). English.
