We are learning to:
• Understand how the Australian and Queensland legal systems respond to drink-driving offences.
• Identify and explain relevant laws, rights and penalties in our chosen scenario.
• Examine a legal case using correct legal terminology.
• Gather and organise evidence to prepare for a written legal report.

What does explain mean?
What does the explain criteria say?
Complete the table in your Inquiry Booklet where you explain the following:

  • Transport Operations Act, Section 79: Vehicle offences involving liquor or other drugs
  • Section 84: Dangerous driving of vehicles (other than motor vehicles)
  • Section 86: Disqualification of drivers of motor vehicles for certain offences

Resources designed for the new senior Social and Community Studies syllabus (implemented in QLD in 2024). Topic: Legal Citizenship. The end of term assessment for this unit was a Report.

The content would also be useful more broadly for students in other states and countries with an interest in road safety. Additional resources for this unit are also available in my store – Aussie_Resources.
