A 12-page cursive handwriting booklet for KS3 / Years 7–9, designed to help secondary students write more neatly, evenly and confidently.

Many students reach secondary school with handwriting that is readable but rushed, inconsistent or poorly positioned on the line. At the same time, much of the handwriting practice available to teachers is designed for younger primary students.

This booklet provides age-appropriate cursive handwriting practice for secondary learners without childish alphabet tracing or primary-style activities.

Students trace carefully written sentences and short passages while focusing on:

• keeping letters correctly positioned on the baseline
• consistent letter size and height
• even spacing between words
• smooth cursive joins
• controlled pen movement
• legibility and presentation
• developing greater writing fluency

The booklet contains 10 structured handwriting practice passages, with ten lines of tracing practice in each activity, followed by opportunities for students to apply the same style independently. A final My Neatest Writing activity encourages students to demonstrate their progress and reflect on the presentation of their work.

The passages use vocabulary and subject matter appropriate for secondary students rather than early-primary handwriting sentences.

Ideal for:

KS3 / Years 7–9 English, literacy intervention, EAL/EALD learners, SEND/learning support, tutor groups, homework, independent literacy practice and students whose handwriting is rushed or difficult to read.

The resource can be used as a short handwriting intervention, weekly literacy activity or individual practice booklet.

British/Australian English spelling is used throughout.

Print the complete booklet or select individual pages according to student need.
