This resource contains 5 black-and-white worksheets designed for EYFS and KS1 children.
Each worksheet features numbers up to 5 created from seaside-themed objects such as crabs, flip-flops, pebbles, fish, sandcastles and other coastal items.
On each row, some of the numbers in a sequence are missing. Children count the objects and complete the set by drawing or writing the missing numbers to make a total of five.
For example, if the numbers 1, 2 and 3 are shown using fish, children continue the fish theme to create numbers 4 and 5.
This encourages number recognition, counting, observation and pattern awareness while maintaining a consistent visual seaside theme.
A blank template sheet is included, allowing children to create their own number sets, draw matching themed numbers, or cut out and paste collections to complete each row.
The template can be used for number sequences in order or for creating groups of the same number, such as sets of 1s, 2s or 3s.
A colour example worksheet is also included to demonstrate how the activity can be completed and to provide visual support for children before they begin the black-and-white worksheets.
This resource provides opportunities to develop early counting, number recognition and one-to-one correspondence through a seaside theme linked to oceans, beaches and holidays.
