This is a 5 lesson unit of study focussed on the Scottish Languages Act 2025. It features a worksheet for each of the 5 lessons for guided learning, along with notes on the lessons for the teacher.

The resource introduces the Scottish Languages Act 2025, and then follows with excerpts of someone talking about their relationship to Scots in Language and Identity. Languages in Statistics has students consider data presented numerically and represent it themselves visually. The Scots Gaelic Oversight examines the Bòrd na Gàidhlig and its role in promoting and protecting Scots Gaelic. Finally there is an investigation of another culture with minority languages and how it seeks to protect them, with a reflecting on my learning at the end. The resource could be used in Scotland, or as a case study outside of Scotland. There is one file with all of the worksheets, and the worksheets saved individually. Thanks for your interest.
