A practical sand tray communication book for autistic and neurodivergent learners, using Colourful Semantics to support meaningful language during digging, scooping, building and shared sand play.

It brings together carefully selected vocabulary for Core Words, WHO, WHAT DOING, WHAT, WHERE and WHAT LIKE?, using the Colourful Semantics framework to help adults model language within real play experiences.

Take the communication book into your sand tray, sand table, sandpit or outdoor play area and use it alongside the child鈥檚 actual experience.

It can be used in mainstream classrooms, specialist settings, autism provision, early years environments and at home.

Created by Alison Garza, Specialist Teacher and founder of Elevating Neurodiversity, drawing on almost 20 years in education and specialist experience supporting autistic learners.
