This ready-to-use ESL lesson helps B1–B2 students practise quantifiers for countable and uncountable nouns through authentic listening, guided grammar tasks, and personalised speaking activities using scenes from* The Big Bang Theory.*

Students begin by organising quantifiers along a quantity spectrum before watching a game night scene to answer comprehension questions using full sentences with quantifiers. A classification task then consolidates the countable/uncountable distinction, followed by a contextualised gap-fill based on a second viewing. The lesson closes with a personalised debate activity where students discuss statements about games and competition, using quantifiers to argue and support their position.

The lesson is carefully scaffolded, making it suitable for revision, consolidation, or first presentation of quantifiers in a meaningful, engaging context.

Destroy Your Textbook - TV Edition: Four Authentic-TV ESL Lessons (B1–C1)

Move beyond scripted textbook dialogues and give students exposure to English as it is actually spoken. This bundle brings together three grammar and vocabulary lessons built around The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family and The Middle, together with our best-selling resource, Derry Girls, included as a bonus lesson. **Contents**: **Third Conditional with The Middle (B1+)** A two-session lesson structured around a Notice → Analyse → Produce approach. Students identify the target structure in authentic dialogue before any rule is presented, then progress through controlled practice to a guided speaking task. **Quantifiers with The Big Bang Theory (B1–B2)** Students categorise quantifiers by frequency before applying them to an authentic clip, distinguishing countable and uncountable use throughout. **Extreme Adjectives with Modern Family (B1–B2)** A noticing task using genuine sitcom dialogue draws out the distinction between base and extreme adjectives, including appropriate intensifiers, before moving into speaking and writing production. **Bonus: Irish Slang and Culture with Derry Girls (B2–C1)** My best-selling lesson. Students examine Hiberno-English pronunciation and slang alongside the cultural and historical context of the series, before producing their own dialogues using the target language. **Rationale**: Single-focus, TV-based worksheets are common; a coherent set covering grammar, vocabulary and authentic listening within one consistent methodology is less so. Each lesson follows the same watch–notice–analyse–produce structure, allowing for straightforward use across a scheme of work or with classes of mixed ability. Suitable for teachers working across several levels, or as an extension task for B1–B2 students ready to engage with unscripted, regionally accented English. **Includes**: -Four complete lessons, ready for classroom use -PDF and editable Word versions -Full answer keys and teacher's notes -Combined individual value of **£9.75** , bundle price **£6.75** **** **FEEDBACK & SUPPORT** If you find this resource helpful, please consider leaving a review! Your feedback is incredibly important as it helps me improve my materials and supports other teachers in finding high-quality resources. Thank you for supporting *ESLforeal*!
