Before It Gets Too Much is a practical PSHE collection for KS3 and KS4 built around one simple question: Notice, Next? It gives students opportunities to think about everyday pressures, notice when something has changed, consider whether their responses are actually helping, and identify a possible next step.

Included in the pack:

  • PSHE lesson - a 60-minute lesson built with prepared activities
  • Take home leaflet - a concise student resource with practical next steps and signposting to support.
  • Classroom poster - a visual reminder of the Notice, Next? message.
  • Lesson notes and implementation guidance – timings, safeguarding guidance and information to help staff use the resources.

The collection deliberately avoids diagnostic language and focuses on helping students think about pressure without needing to identify or explain exactly what’s wrong. It also recognises that a useful next step might be something small, taking time to reset, or talking to someone they trust.

Suitable for KS3–KS4 PSHE, tutor time, assemblies and mental health awareness work. You can find additional resources for tutors or the full collection here.
