This writing resource contains six sets of picture clues to help children create and write their own mystery stories.
Each set encourages children to look carefully at the clues, ask questions, make predictions and explain what they think may have happened.
The pack includes simple instructions, key vocabulary and differentiated sample stories for one set of clues to support children at different stages of writing. Activities can be completed independently, with a partner or in small groups, encouraging discussion, turn-taking and sharing ideas before writing.
The resource supports creative writing, speaking and listening, vocabulary development, inference, sequencing events and story planning, making it suitable for whole-class lessons, guided writing, literacy groups or independent work at KS1.
