The lesson begins with a thought-provoking starter exploring why younger children think differently from teenagers, leading into Piaget鈥檚 key assumptions. Core AO1 knowledge is delivered through clear explanations, short video support, and relatable examples. Understanding is reinforced through interactive schema activities, including a One-Word Schema Challenge and fast-paced assimilation vs accommodation mini whiteboard questions linked to A levels.

Students then apply their knowledge through exam-style AO2 scenarios (e.g. zoo animals, cooking and MasterChef), supported by model answers. AO3 evaluation is developed using structured PEEL paragraphs, key research (e.g. Howe et al., Vygotsky, Bryant), MCQs, and a dilemma-style debate on discovery learning versus teacher guidance. The lesson finishes with exam practice, peer assessment (WWW/EBI), and a reflective plenary.
