Reading about the Ofsted questions and actually answering them out loud under pressure are two completely different skills - and almost all safeguarding prep only trains the first one.

This pack exists for the second one.

What’s included:

Eight real questions, pulled directly from genuine Ofsted safeguarding deep dive practice - not invented, not generic. Each one is set out as an actual rehearsal exercise:

The question itself, exactly as it’s likely to be asked
A dedicated fillable space to draft your answer - write it out, or talk it through and jot the key points
“A strong answer usually includes” - a checklist to mark yourself against afterwards, not a script to read from

The questions are grouped by who’s actually asked them:

DSL question set - four in-depth questions testing whether you understand your school’s real safeguarding position: talking through a live case from start to finish, how you know your systems work (not just that they exist), where you’ve identified weaknesses, and how you assure yourself staff would respond well to a disclosure.
SLT & governor question set - two questions on oversight: how governors actually scrutinise safeguarding, and whether leadership can speak to their own training with confidence, not just defer to the DSL.
Staff & classroom question set -two questions any member of staff could be asked, not just the DSL: what they’d do if a child disclosed something to them, and whether they know who their DSL actually is.

Beyond the questions themselves, the pack includes a section on running an effective practice session - timing yourself, mixing up question order, practising with a colleague rather than alone - and a self-assessment section to work through honestly once you’ve finished, so the practice actually surfaces real gaps rather than just building false confidence.

Who it’s for: DSLs, deputies, SLT and any member of staff preparing for a safeguarding deep dive who wants to walk in having actually said the answers out loud, not just read them once and hoped for the best.

Format: Fully editable Word document, print-ready, with genuine fillable answer space built into the layout - designed to be written in, not just read.
