Informed by and strongly aligned with the principles and practice described in NCSE Relate, this child-led, neuro-affirming resource gives children accessible information about their day and reliable ways to communicate back.

It supports children to see what is happening now, what comes next, what is nearly finished and what has changed, while giving them ways to communicate No Thank You, Stop, All Done, I Need Help, Sore, Not Feeling Well, Too Loud, Too Bright, Too Busy and I Need a Break.

The 118-page pack includes 75 symbol cards, a Teacher & SNA Reference Set and six complete colour-coded Student Packs in Pink, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow and Orange.

Resources include My Day, My Week, Now, Next & Later, Getting Ready to Change, Almost Time, Getting My Things, Coming In, Going Home, Taking a Break, My Choice, Telling You What I Need and Change of Plan.

Cards can be swapped for photographs, drawings or personalised symbols that the child already understands. The pack sits alongside existing communication methods rather than replacing them.

Visual supports are offered as tools for understanding, communication, choice and participation, not as rewards, demands or behaviour-management systems.

Created for autism classes, primary classrooms, teachers and SNAs.

Child-Led Autism Resources | NCSE Relate

CalmNotQuiet resources are informed by and strongly aligned with the principles and practice described in NCSE Relate. This child-led, neuro-affirming bundle brings together three complementary resources designed to support communication, participation, autonomy and access throughout the school day. Timetables & Transitions gives children accessible information about what is happening now, what comes next, what is nearly finished and what has changed. It includes 75 symbol cards, six colour-coded Student Packs, visual sequences, Now, Next & Later, Getting Ready to Change, Taking a Break, My Choice, Telling You What I Need, Change of Plan, Coming In, Going Home, My Day and My Week. Communication Boards give children accessible ways to communicate what they are experiencing, choosing, needing or saying. The boards include communication for feelings, body and senses, participation, choice, transitions and everyday needs, with response options and a portable transition board. Getting to Know Me helps children share who they are, how they communicate, what helps them, who matters to them and what is important to them. It includes four boards, a shared Response Library, Communication Initiators and a Choice Library. Together, the three resources create a two-way approach: the environment gives the child accessible information, and the child has accessible ways to communicate back. They can be personalised using photographs, symbols, drawings, writing and the child鈥檚 existing communication methods. Designed for autism class teachers, SNAs and any child who benefits from accessible visual support.
