A complete five-lesson unit that prepares National 5 Administration and IT pupils for the 20-mark spreadsheet question in the question paper. Pupils work as Administrative Assistant to Priya Shah at Lumen Outdoor Gear, a fictional company launching its Trailblazer range. This is the third unit in the Lumen series, after Presentations and Word Processing, so the scenario and figures carry straight on.

THE FIVE LESSONS
Lesson 1, Trailblazer Stock Sheet: inserting and deleting rows, the four operators, SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, MIN, COUNT and COUNTA, replication, the published formula rules, and value and formula printouts.
Lesson 2, Pricing the Range: absolute references, named cells, VAT amount v rate, percentage change, % and date formats, and actioning comments.
Lesson 3, Who Gets a Discount?: IF statements that return text and that calculate, combined formulae and sorting on two columns.
Lesson 4, Linking the Launch Budget: linking worksheets, hiding columns, custom headers and footers, orientation and print extracts, with data protection theory.
Lesson 5, Charts and Exam Technique: charts from non-adjacent data, meaningful labels, embedded charts and a timed mini question.
