This 14-page EYFS and KS1 resource supports children learning the months of the year, numbers to 12 and ordinal numbers through a range of colourful and black-and-white worksheets and flashcards.
The set includes month cards, number cards, ordinal number cards and month-and-number matching cards, giving teachers flexibility for whole-class teaching, small group work, continuous provision or independent activities.
Children can sequence the months from January to December, match each month to its correct number, pair ordinal numbers such as 1st, 2nd and 3rd with the months, and practise reading and recognising month names.
The colour versions are useful for display, modelling, games and laminated activities, while the black-and-white versions can be used as printable worksheets for children to colour, trace, cut out and complete themselves.
Activities could include ordering the cards across a table or washing line, matching colour and black-and-white versions, sorting months by season, playing snap or pairs games, filling in missing months or numbers, and using the cards to talk about birthdays, weather and seasonal events.
