Bring one of Lower Key Stage 2’s most fascinating science topics to life with this exciting, interactive and curriculum-linked class assembly.

When the labels on the school science trolley mysteriously disappear, a group of Year 3 and Year 4 pupils is challenged to sort everything back into the correct place. As they investigate objects from the classroom, kitchen and playground, they meet a colourful cast of science characters—including Rocky the Solid, Droplet the Liquid, Steam the Gas and Dr Spark—who help them discover the three states of matter. Along the way, they learn how solids, liquids and gases behave, how heating and cooling cause materials to change state, and why science helps us understand the world around us.

Designed specifically for Lower Key Stage 2, this ready-to-perform assembly combines engaging storytelling with meaningful scientific learning, helping pupils build confidence with scientific vocabulary while exploring one of the key topics in the KS2 Science curriculum.
