A practical workbook for anyone completing the Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship (ST0480).

I created this resource after completing the apprenticeship myself and achieving a Distinction at End Point Assessment. It’s designed to make the KSBs feel much more manageable – particularly when you’re trying to work out how your everyday leadership experience can become useful apprenticeship evidence.

The workbook includes:

• Clear explanations of the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs)
• Practical leadership examples to help you identify evidence from your own role
• Prompts to help you reflect on your experience and build stronger evidence
• Support with linking workplace activity to the apprenticeship standard
• A KSB Finder to help you work backwards from something you’ve done and identify which KSBs it could demonstrate
• Guidance to support preparation for End Point Assessment

It has been written particularly with leaders in education in mind, using realistic examples from school leadership, but much of the guidance can be applied to leadership roles in other sectors too.

This isn’t an academic textbook. It’s the practical guide I wish I’d had when I started my Level 7.
