31-page printable Leadership Skills Workbook for Grades 5–8, ages 10–14. This colorful, student-friendly workbook introduces upper-elementary and middle-school learners to the practical skills that help them become thoughtful, confident, responsible leaders. Students do more than read about leadership—they complete self-assessments, respond to realistic situations, practice communication and problem solving, set personal goals, and reflect on the kind of leader they want to become.

Students also work through decision-making, problem solving, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and empathy using age-appropriate scenarios and reflection questions. Rather than giving students one “right leadership personality, the activities encourage them to understand their individual strengths, recognize areas for growth, consider other people’s perspectives, and practice making thoughtful decisions.

The workbook then introduces practical organization and leadership habits through SMART goal setting, time management, prioritizing, teamwork, conflict resolution, giving and receiving feedback, delegation, and trust building. These pages are especially useful for helping students connect leadership with everyday classroom life working successfully in groups, listening to others, handling disagreements, taking responsibility, managing time, and following through on commitments.

Why Teachers and Parents Would Love It

This resource combines leadership development, SEL, character education, executive-function skills, and personal growth in one coordinated workbook. The activities can be used in order as a leadership unit or selected individually to support a particular classroom topic. It is well suited for Grades 5–8, ages 10–14, including upper-elementary classrooms, middle school, advisory, homeroom, student council, leadership clubs, counseling groups, SEL lessons, life-skills instruction, character education, and independent enrichment.

The final section helps students bring everything together through Leadership Challenges, a Personal Growth Tracker, Daily Leadership Habits, Weekly Reflection, and a personal Leadership Action Plan. These pages encourage students to notice their progress, build consistent habits, identify areas they want to improve, and make a realistic plan for continued growth.

A Certificate of Completion is included at the end of the workbook, giving teachers, parents, counselors, or group leaders a simple way to recognize students for completing the leadership-development activities.
