A KS3 PSHE and STEAM lesson on SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, where students explore what makes cities sustainable or unsustainable and investigate how real cities around the world are trying to solve environmental and social challenges.

Students complete a scaffolded case study research activity on examples such as Singapore’s green architecture, Copenhagen’s cycling infrastructure, and Paris’ 15-minute city model before taking part in a STEAM challenge to design their own sustainable city or building.

The lesson includes discussion activities, research tables, critical thinking prompts, and creative design tasks using either Canva, Tinkercad, or low-resource prototyping methods.

Designed to be accessible for KS3 learners, including EAL students, while promoting creativity, collaboration, and global citizenship.
