Pupils explore Boolean logic through the familiar world of recommendation systems, learning how apps and game stores decide what to suggest next. They work with a games dataset, test clear true or false conditions and build recommendation rules that can be applied consistently and fairly.

Across three lessons, pupils learn AND, OR and NOT logic gates, combine them into logic circuits then translate circuits into plain English rules. They then apply those rules to real data, using spreadsheet filters to narrow a list and IF statements to build a simple recommendation system that outputs a clear yes or no for each game. Along the way they practise careful reasoning, checking results against the data and debugging when a rule does not behave as expected.
