A practical life skills checklist for helping young people prepare for independent living. It can be used to identify skills they already have, spot areas where they need more practice and set achievable goals.

The checklist covers everyday tasks around the home, including:

• Cleaning and caring for living spaces
• Basic home and fire safety
• Cooking and kitchen skills
• Bedroom, bathroom and laundry tasks
• Simple office and household tasks
• Travel, budgeting and personal organisation

The resource includes four checklist pages plus a blank page for adding individual goals or skills. It may be useful for secondary and post-16 students, life skills programmes, transition planning, pastoral support, home education and SEND settings.

Please note that this is a checklist for assessing and recording practical skills. It does not include lesson plans or instructions for completing each task.

PDF format. Six A4 pages including the cover.
