A complete three-week Higher Spanish unit exploring Family & Relationships within the Society context.

The pack contains 9 structured 50-minute lessons designed to move S5 pupils beyond personal description towards the detailed, complex and increasingly independent language expected at Higher.

Pupils explore contemporary family structures, relationships, conflict, becoming independent, partnership, changing expectations and generational differences.

Skills developed include:
• detailed reading comprehension
• listening
• translation
• complex language
• inference and overall-purpose thinking
• sustained discussion
• discursive writing
• argument and counterargument

The resource includes full lesson plans, teacher guidance, printable pupil activities, original reading and listening material, scripts, homework, answers and formative assessment.

Language and ideas are deliberately recycled throughout the sequence so that pupils gradually progress from supported work towards independent communication and evaluation.

Suitable for complete unit delivery, targeted Higher preparation or adaptation within a wider Society programme.

Important information about listening activities: Audio recordings are not included with this resource. Complete teacher-read transcripts for all listening tasks are provided within the Teacher Guide on page 30

All texts, questions and activities are independently authored by The Curriculum Edit.
