A grade 9 response to an AQA-style exam (extract and question included) on the theme of redemption.

Includes a thesis statement introduction.
Point 1 examines how Scrooge is presented as a character in need of redemption in Stave 1.
Point 2 examines how the ghosts illuminate Scrooge’s journey towards redemption and examines Dickens’ use of the motif of light.
Point 3 explores how Dickens uses a circular structure to help Scrooge’s redemption come to fruition.
It ends with a conclusion linking back to Dickens’ message.
Analyse of A02 and A03 is successfully woven into the responses.
