Make Christmas maths fun with these adorable Gingerbread One More and One Less Mats!
A hands-on Christmas maths activity for EYFS and Reception children to develop number recognition, counting and early addition and subtraction skills.
Children use pom poms, buttons, beads or other loose parts to decorate the gingerbread men, representing one less and one more than the given number.

Two differentiated versions are included:
Version 1: The numbers for one more and one less are already included for children to represent using loose parts. Numbers up to 10.
Version 2: Children work out one more and one less independently, representing the quantities and writing their answers in the blank boxes. Numbers up to 10.

How to use:
Print and laminate the mats. Provide children with a selection of loose parts and a dry-wipe pen. Children identify the given number, add the correct number of ‘sweets’ to the gingerbread men and record their answers where needed.

Perfect for:
EYFS and Reception maths provision
Christmas continuous provision
One more and one less
Counting and number recognition
Practical maths activities
Fine motor skills and loose parts play
