This ready-to-teach lesson introduces students to weather and climate vocabulary while building confidence across listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

Carefully designed to reflect IB exam style tasks (but adaptable for any curriculum), this lesson supports students in using il fait / il y a / c’est, expressing opinions, and talking about the present and near future in a clear, structured way. Ideal for both new learning and revision, it works perfectly as a stand-alone lesson or part of the Partage de la Planete unit.

Students engage with a short weather report, practise Vrai/Faux and comprehension questions, develop accuracy through targeted grammar focus, and apply their knowledge in IB-style speaking prompts and a scaffolded writing task. Differentiation and challenge are built in, making it accessible for mixed-ability classes.

What’s included:

  • Clear learning objectives & success criteria
  • Weather vocabulary + key structures (il fait / il y a / c’est)
  • Listening/reading comprehension tasks
  • Grammar focus with common mistake correction
