An editable PowerPoint to introduce and practise the French verb avoir with KS2 and Year 7 students, and potentially other lower-ability KS3 pupils.

The resource introduces the forms j鈥檃i, tu as, il a and elle a through repetition and assumes that students already know numbers to 20 and some common pet animals. It then provides a range of fun, interactive activities to practise and consolidate the new language, including Mastermind, Trapdoor, Dice Talking and Noughts and Crosses.

The activities provide plenty of repetition while encouraging students to produce the language themselves, making this suitable for whole-class lessons, small groups or 1:1 teaching. The PowerPoint is fully editable, allowing teachers to adapt it to suit their students.
