Five short pages to try before you buy anything. Each one is a slice of a full UK social narrative: a first day at a new job, riding the bus, a shift that changes, getting feedback from a manager, and taking breaks at work.

They are written in first person, in a calm adult voice, for KS4, post-16 and young adult SEND learners. No babyish pictures, no “big feelings language. Just what happens, what I can do, and what I can say.

How I use them: pick the page that matches what is coming up this week, read it with the learner the day before, point at the real thing on site if you can, and ask one question: “What would you say here?

What you get

  • 8 A4 pages (PDF) plus an editable Word file, so you can drop in real names, places and times
    • A how-to page for staff
    • Five sample pages, each with a talk prompt and a writing line
    • A page listing the full UK sets

UK wording throughout: reception, staff room, manager, tapping a card or pass on the bus.

Licence: one download covers one teacher. Please do not post the file online.
