Support PreK–Grade 2 learners with following directions using real photos and progressive 1-step, 2-step and 3-step directions activities.

I created this resource to provide structured practice for students developing receptive language, auditory comprehension, attention and working memory. The activities begin with simple identification tasks and gradually increase in difficulty, helping students move from single directions to multi-step instructions in a clear and predictable format.

How to Use

Teachers and therapists can use the worksheets during special education instruction, speech and language sessions, intervention, learning centres, small-group teaching, one-to-one support, independent practice or home learning.

Parts 1–2 can be used as standard worksheets. Parts 3–5 include cut-apart picture pieces for hands-on practice. Pages and pieces may be laminated for repeated use, with removable adhesive or hook-and-loop dots if preferred.

Recommended For

This resource is designed for PreK–Grade 2 students, including learners with Autism Spectrum Disorders, special educational needs, speech-language delays and receptive language or following directions goals.

The clear layouts, consistent activity structure and real photos provide visual support while the five-part progression allows educators to begin at an appropriate level and gradually increase the language and memory demands.
