Turn your one-to-one speaking lessons into a time-travelling role-play. Over five modules your B2 student visits Socrates, Buddha, Leonardo da Vinci, Oda Nobunaga and George Washington, while you play each mentor: asking, interrupting, testing and rewarding. The student does most of the talking, collects points at every stop and works up to a final rank.
What your student will do

Module 1, Socrates: defend opinions, define abstract ideas, handle interruptions and logical traps, and reason through a moral dilemma with all four conditionals
• Module 2, Buddha: describe feelings precisely, talk about habits and attachments, hypothesise (wish, if only, would rather) and trace cause and effect
• Module 3, Leonardo: describe unfamiliar objects, speculate, explain something without the word (circumlocution), pitch an invention and redesign a broken system
• Module 4, Nobunaga: decide quickly, weigh options, negotiate and deliver an ultimatum without insults, using conditionals and the future perfect
• Module 5, Washington: propose laws with formal modals, mediate with reported speech, persuade a crowd and give a farewell speech with negative inversion
What’s included
Student pack (73 pages, A4): mission briefings, phrase banks, grammar ladders, vocabulary warm-ups, 25 scored stops with scenes and tasks, scoring scrolls, self-checks, scoreboards and ranks, bonus homework and a Grand Finale
• Teacher’s Guide and answer key (42 pages): set-up checklists, how to play each mentor, sample answers at B2 level, common errors with quick fixes, a scoring guide for every stop, marking grid, adapting the course, Gold & Growth sheet and course tracker
• Print-ready PDF and fully editable Word (.docx) versions of both, so you can change the wording, add your own student’s name or cut a stop
Why it works
Every stop has a scene, a task with a clear language target, a phrase bank and a self-check, so the student always knows what to do and how they did. Points reward communication, not right answers, and each module has its own bonus skill.
How it works
Designed for one-to-one lessons (private tutors, online teachers, tutoring centres) with B2 learners aged about 15 and over. Each module takes 100–120 minutes, about nine hours in total, and splits neatly into two lessons. The guide also has a tip for working with two students.
Good to know
The historical figures are fictional dramatisations for language practice; the dialogue is invented. One licence covers one teacher. Each module is also sold separately in this shop.
